Marilyn V. Adams

Born in Ohio, Marilyn Adams lived a life defined by fierce independence, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to serving others.

Her decades-long involvement with the Girl Scouts took her across the globe-from Germany to Japan and beyond-as she championed the organization's mission to empower young women worldwide.

Marilyn was also a thoughtful steward of her resources. A disciplined saver and astute investor, she credited an early mentor with teaching her the art of investing-wisdom she carried with her throughout her life and used to quietly build a legacy of generosity.

As a longtime resident of Laguna Woods, Marilyn deeply valued the presence of Saddleback Medical Center in her community. To her, it was more than a hospital - it was a place of comfort, compassion, and exceptional care. That trust was embodied in her relationship with her beloved primary care physician, the late Dr. Lynn Granlund, whose thoughtful and attentive care reflected Marilyn's own high regard for the hospital.

We first met Marilyn ten years ago when she visited our office to explore how she might make a meaningful impact through an estate gift. Over the years, we stayed in touch-always honoring her deeply private nature and personal wishes.

In keeping with her lifelong devotion to community wellbeing, Marilyn made a transformational gift through her trust to benefit Saddleback Medical Center, with a heartfelt focus on Hospice and Emergency Care. Her generosity reflects a deep desire to bring comfort, dignity, and healing to others-just as she experienced herself.

Marilyn's legacy will be beautifully honored through the naming of Marilyn V. Adams Geriatric Emergency Program and the establishment of the Marilyn V. Adams Comfort Care Fundat MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center.

Marilyn would be deeply moved to know that her gift will support seniors and the neighbors she cared about in Laguna Woods, extending comfort and compassion throughout our community -continuing her legacy of compassion and care in the most meaningful way.
