After 50 years as an FBI investigative analyst, Carol Lullmann had seen and done plenty of interesting things. When she retired in 1999, she decided she still had not done enough.

A Los Angeles native, Lullmann landed in Leisure World (now Laguna Woods) in 1979. She volunteers regularly at Laguna Woods' library and South County Outreach, a local food bank. But that was not busy enough, so last year she began volunteering at Saddleback Memorial's medical library, finding and copying journal articles at the request of doctors. "My motto is 'keep moving,' " says Lullmann, who celebrated her 80th birthday in 2011.

Lullmann has not only been a generous volunteer, but a donor as well. She contributes through charitable gift annuities at Saddleback Memorial Foundation. She has also given generously to the Blood Donor Center Expansion Project, Guardian Angel program, bed-replacement project, and even named Saddleback Memorial in her will. She has also contributed to the Tree of Light annual fundraiser, which benefits Saddleback Memorial's Hospice of Saddleback Valley. She has a special fondness for their staff because they took amazing care of her aunt when she was ill. "They were so wonderful and so special," she says.

When Lullmann is not volunteering, you might find her at the Laguna Woods Garden Club, or venturing out to the Getty Villa with friends. "I like to be around other people," she says. "And maybe along the way I can help somebody."
